Make A Difference

Make A Difference

Welcome to my ‘Make A Difference’ page.  This section of my website was created with the hope of encouraging those who visit my site to get involved in animal and environmental issues, as well as to help people in need.  Below is a list of a few of my favorite charitable organizations and a brief description from each charity’s website about what they do and their goals.

*(Linking to the following websites was approved by each individual charity.  The organizations are not affiliated with Loco Guitar Music or terridimarco.com in any way).

ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals):

“The ASPCA was founded in 1866 as the first humane organization in the Western Hemisphere. The Society was formed to alleviate the injustices animals faced then, and we continue to battle cruelty today. Whether it’s saving a pet who has been accidentally poisoned, fighting to pass humane laws, rescuing animals from abuse or sharing resources with shelters across the country, we work toward the day in which no animal will live in pain or fear. Come and join us in the fight to end animal cruelty - become an ASPCA Member today!

"The Greater Good Network is a website which brings together communities that care, giving individuals the power to make a difference in the world with simple, every day actions. You can benefit leading nonprofit organizations by choosing from a range of activities, including clicking on the free contribution button daily or shopping for gifts, apparel, jewelry, and home décor in the do-good stores to give even more funding."

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS):

“The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is committed to protecting all animals—from the mouse in a laboratory to elephants in South Africa—through a variety of means. We rescue animals, lobby for laws, investigate cruelties, educate the public, and so much more.”

“The International Fund for Animal Welfare works to improve animal welfare, prevent animal cruelty and abuse, protect wildlife and provide animal rescue around the world. From stopping the elephant ivory trade, to ending the Canadian seal hunt and saving the whales from extinction, IFAW works to create solutions that benefit both animals and people.

Last Chance For Animals:

Last Chance for Animals (LCA) recognizes that animals have the ability to experience pain, and as such they deserve certain basic rights protecting them from pain caused by humans.  Founded in 1984 by Hollywood actor Chris DeRose, Last Chance For Animals has its roots in fighting and exposing the inherent cruelty of vivisection.  It opposes the use of animals for scientific curiosity, entertainment, clothing, and food.”
