TERRI DIMARCO’S SONGS ARE A MUSICAL MELTING POT.

With a diverse musical background in alternative and hard rock, blues, pop and folk, she is the definition of eclectic. DiMarco's writing style hints acoustic rock, but each of her songs leans toward a different genre, colored by tasteful expressions of guitar work. DiMarco brings the diversity of the guitar to the forefront, without being overpowering. "I don't want to be viewed as just another female singer," says DiMarco. "It's important to me to put more emphasis on the guitar; to show that women can play seriously and not be locked into one style." She has reached the happy medium between being frivolous or too intricate. "I want my songs to inspire the listener to feel."

Aussie export Gilli Moon was among the talent at the Lounge 88 with California guest Terri DiMarco. Between the vocals, keyboards and guitar, this duo doesn't need any additional instrumentation to showcase its fundamental and obvious songwriting skills. Terri's guitar work added some fabulous rhythm and active melange with Gilli's smooth keyboard sounds.

Terri's debut CD, "Pacific Ocean," is a mix of rock'n blues — my fav being "Try to be Normal", which I figure is a perfect title for an upbeat blues rock tune. Her vocals vary from soft folksy to assertive rock and, of course, the guitar work is pure rock'n. Move over Joni. Check out her tunes at www.TerriDimarco.com

Gilli's artsie "Temperamental Angel" is an extension of her visual arts creative nature. A combo of sensual vocals and hot tune, this particular song is sure to gain much attention. Great dance tunes. Hit the floor Jack!

Fantastic!! This CD shows the versatility and tremendous talent of this truly remarkable and gifted artist. Over the years I have had the privelege of watching Terri grow as a songwriter/guitarist. Her music is inspiring and uplifting. Pacific Ocean is one of the all time great songs I have ever heard. I really look forward to her next musical endeavor.

I really like the sincerity of this CD. It rocks, it touches the heart, and there is so much feeling in it. Her attributes as a guitarist show up in this CD, stating "who says a woman cannot play a great guitar" this gal really has the talent. The words to her music really hit home, and her rendition of "Haunting" brings tears to one's eyes if you ever have been in love and lost. WOW great job Ms DiMarco

How to know you've purchased a good album...
by Adam Kaplan Rating: 10

This is one rocking, sweet, soulful, balladic, delicious album, with a song from nearly every genre, and thoughtful lyrics that speak of survival and adventure in the "everyday" world of Terri DiMarco, a Los Angelesian who moves with the mechanics. Bright colorful guitar gymnastics and masterful vocal harmonies outline the charming set of songs. The whole album is extremely listenable, and any of these tracks could be released as radio singles quite successfully (in almost any era). Each tune flows to the next effortlessly, and the grace of the recording is a combination of sleek production style as well as masterful songwriting. I look forward to seeing Terri DiMarco live again, where these songs shine in a very different way. Until then I have this cd to listen to. Only one tiny complaint: it ended... :)

Terri DiMarco paints meaningful words on a canvas of elegantly expressed guitar music. Her songs inspire me-more than hearing-to see and feel the story. She has mastered the art of showing a deeply felt allegory in four minutes. Listening to her music rates right up there with solace and a breath of fresh air. Thank you Terri DiMarco for sharing with the world, the treasures of your profound gift.

CD & Live Review
September and October 2002

Terri DiMarco @ Coffee Junction Tarzana, CA -

Terri DiMarco's set at Coffee Junction featured a wonderful rendition of "Pacific Ocean". The rhythmic strum of her guitar and the lilt of the lyrics conjured the feeling of rolling ocean waves. The sound was offset by the expression of alienation and disappointment attached to a wish for escape to the promise of the ocean. "In Your Grace" is a stunning and loving tribute to her late Grandmother. Terri played and sang it with a true reverence that honored her legacy well. After "No Expectations", with it's very cool and catchy rhythm riff and the fast paced "Everybody's Watching”, Terri closed her set with "Try To Be Normal". This is an uptempo blues tune that the crowd always gets into with fervor. This night was no exception. The humorous lyrics about a job that has her walking a thin line to insanity and the awesome blues riffs makes it a joy to listen to, and it's a great closer for her show. It was a fun set to see!
